Sean provides a thorough, intensive and specifically individualized approach for each of his clients. He explains the purpose of each exercise in relation to achieving your individual goals. The workouts are INTENSE in the long run, but he slowly builds up your confidence and stamina appropriately. I’ve been training with Sean for months and I look forward to training with him in a calm, friendly and nonjudgmental environment twice a week. I’ve seen visual improvements to my body and overall muscle strength. I’m more defined and I’m losing weight at a steady and healthy pace. At the beginning, I could only lift fifteen pound weights and now I can lift 40 pounds in addition to 100 POUND SQUATS!!! Kevin is an outstanding trainer with expert knowledge and understanding of strength training, physiology, neurology, and nutrition, tailoring your training program to accomodate your lifestyle and psychology. He takes the time to understand your goals, limitations and timeline so your specific needs are addressed. His approach is measured and paced to the individual. While having lived a life of fitness, in a very short period of time, Kevin has enabled me to produce physiological results (strength and muscle definition) that I never been able to achieve previously (either on my own or with other trainers). Not only has he transformed my physic, but he has educated me along the way to understand what and why I am performing specific exercises. When Kevin doesn't have the knowledge or experience, he researches the literature to gain the necessary knowledge. Kevin has my highest recommendation.

I’ve been active my whole life, but I felt like I turned 30 and wasn’t making progress anymore. Kevin knew how to help right away by hooking me up with Maxine. Along with some nutrition guidance, Maxine was able to help me lose 20 pounds of fat in 4 months! The workouts have consistently been challenging but fun, and I’m always looking forward to the next one!

If I could rate 5+ stars I would. I worked out with Kevin for a little under a year. My original plan was just 6 months, however with the knowledge and guidance Kevin was giving me, 6 months seemed too short. I started off as someone who had never weight trained and knew very minimal about form and how to lift weights. Kevin was always very patient with me, taught me proper form, and as a result he gave me confidence that I wouldn’t have had without Foundation Fitness. After moving and no longer in the Ashburn area, I feel confident about what I’m doing in the gym thanks to Kevin and will continue to use those skills for years and years to come!!

If you are serious about physical health, I recommend Sean and Foundation Fitness of Ashburn. I worked with Sean for six months and learned a lot. Trainers focus on overall fitness, not just lifting weights. They work with you on your diet, exercise, mobility, etc.Before joining Foundation Fitness, I used to work out five days a week, doing the push pull routines and I was getting mediocre results.After joining foundation fitness, I worked out 2-3 days a week and could see the results in just three months. We mainly focused on compound movements, and Sean monitored my diet (primarily carb and protein intakes). Sean educated me about concepts like one rep max and what to eat/when to eat.What I liked:- Professional and friendly staff- Flexible around your schedule- Great facility/equipment

Kevin has been working with me for a while now, he always is ready for whatever i bring that day. If I'm having a bad day he pushes me through it, if my shoulder starts to hurt he adjusts the exercise to suit my needs, and best of all makes me always want to go every morning by being a joy to train under! Ive been working with Sean at this location for over a year. I can’t describe how thankful I am for his flexibility to work around my hectic work schedule and make time for me ALWAYS! On top of being a top notch fitness professional, I also love that he is willing to try new workout styles (i.e. we picked up boxing at the end of our sessions) to cater the workout to my wants and mood of the day! I swear it’s like he’s a mind reader and can tell what type of workout you truly exactly need that day! It took me several tries to find “the ONE” but Sean is it!!! :)I also enjoy the studio vibe at this location. The other trainers are just as amazing too and super friendly. It creates for such an inclusive, fun, and positive environment for all customers.

I have been working out at Foundation Fitness of Ashburn before it was Foundation Fitness! I currently work out with Kevin. He is a very attentive trainer. He pays attention to a client's training goals, physical condition and special needs (like injuries or weak body parts). I appreciate his knowledge of the human body and muscle system. He has helped me strengthen a gimpy shoulder and increase my strength at the same time. He is quite flexible in scheduling, which is important to me as I travel some for work. And he pays attention to my desire to train without other people in the gym because of the coronavirus. Kevin pays personal attention to the gym being clean and sanitized, which I appreciate. Overall, I highly recommend Foundation Fitness of Ashburn and Kevin.

I’ve been working with Kevin almost 6 months now and it’s been way better than expected! Short story: I work in the automotive field working on transmissions. The other day a customer of ours brought in his own transmission to drop off to us. Not abnormal BUT what was unusual is he had put it on the back seat of his car. Not an ideal situation for getting it out of the car since it’s awkwardly shaped and heavy. Normally we’d use two people to lift it up and out of a car, usually someone’s trunk of tailgate. Since it was in the back seat it’s hard to get two people to fit into the door. Well.... thanks to Kevin and his training..... I was able to lift the transmission out BY MYSELF and carry it over to the cart it needed to be placed on!! Thank you Kevin, I look forward to seeing what results continue to come from training with you!

Foundation Fitness of Ashburn is an amazing gym. Unlike the big chain gyms, the trainers are extremely knowledgeable and you can tell they really care about your health. The gym is always clean, especially since the the pandemic, and I feel safe working out there. Whether you are a serious athlete or just want a comfortable place to workout, I highly recommend this gym. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

If you're looking to get the most out of your workout, look no further than this gym. Unlike big-box gyms, you'll get pushed to your full potential. The facilities are cleaner than the other gyms, and I feel safe whereas in my old gym I would leave feeling uncomfortable and worried. You definitely get more bang for your buck.

Kevin is amazing, and I would highly recommend him to anyone, from the novice to a more experienced lifter. He’s extremely knowledgeable about anatomy and how the body moves and functions in different exercises, and teaches you correct form, hand/foot placement, and breath work. I started working with Kevin at Foundation Fitness about a year ago; I was suffering from chronic sciatic pain in my right leg and trying to avoid surgery. Kevin evaluated my movement and identified the source of my pain. I was pain free within the first 3 months of working with him. Now we are focusing on regaining my lower body strength after years of sitting at a desk. Really wish I could give them more that a five! When I first met with Kevin at Foundation Fitness I had utilized the personal training at my local gym and I can honestly tell you that they don’t know what in the world they are doing. I have been working with Kevin for about a month and I am extremely satisfied with the results I’m seeing! Every session gets gradually harder as I become stronger and in better shape. The training environment is a very fun, open atmosphere. Kevin is an all around trainer who adapts, as my workout needs change. I have been at this studio for about 3 years. i have worked out since i was a kid, and stopped for a few years when my kids were born. I came to the studio and i got back in shape. People generally think i am 10-15 years younger that i am. I have back injuries that i some pain, but through exercise-muscles building, my constant pain has eased. Small classes and great workouts. I just finished the Six Week Challenge and am excited about continuing with Foundation Fitness. The sessions are tough but I’m never “guilted” into pushing myself beyond what I can safely do. This is the first training that I’ve stuck with longer than a month, thanks Kevin.

I was a member at Lifetime before joining here. I enjoyed working out, but absolutely hated the people there. The douchbaggery and pretentiousness made it practically unbearable. On a whim, I accepted an invite from a friend to try her kettlebell class at Foundation Fitness. I enjoyed it so much, I canceled my other membership the next day. It’s now been almost two years, and I’ve never regretted moving over. Before I joined Foundation Fitness I had never picked up a kettlebell, but now I can swing it with the best of them. It’s not really about just lifting weights and doing cardio. It’s a whole adjustment of your fitness routine, centered around functional strength. They’re small classes (3-10 folks, depending on which class), so you’ll never have to compete with anyone for weights or space. The level of instruction here is top-notch. My main trainer has been Brian Wright, and he is really great. But I’ve also had time to get to know a few of the other trainers: Adam, Cynthia, and Stevens are also really great and very personable. No matter if you’re starting a fitness journey for the first time or changing up your routine after years of working out, this place will still work great for you.I even train with Brian in a separate group outside of our class time, because I like him so much and the training and instruction is so good! This is the strongest I’ve ever been in my entire life and I’m so happy with the results.If you’re considering a small class setting, I HIGHLY recommend Foundation Fitness in Ashburn.

I have been working out with kettlebells for the past 5 years. Hardstyle kettlebell has given me strength and confidence to keep getting stronger. The programs at Foundation Fitness, Ashburn are customized to each individual's needs. Even if you have a specific goal the well-rounded workouts get you stronger in a comprehensive way. I've participated in the last 4 Tactical Strength Challenges and every time hit a new PR in multiple events. The Sunday open gym programs are like the icing on the cake of building strength - focus, supportive camaraderie, and motivating energy.

I've been a recreational athlete all my life and BW-PT is the only group exercise program that I not only have maintained twice a week for close to a year now, but have seen substantial strength, endurance, and mobility results with. BW-PT trainers are professional and passionate. They make classes challenging but fun. I had never picked up a kettle bell before going to BW-PT and not once did I felt intimidated or overwhelmed by the classes or movements. BW-PT trainers pay close attention to each client making sure they are in proper form, particularly if you are a newbie. I love the small class sizes and diversity of each workout. If you are looking for a killer full body workout, BW-PT is your place. Be forewarned though, you will be addicted.

Kevin has been wonderful as a trainer and teacher. I have been learning how to activate/reactivate muscles that haven't been engaged in years. He is knowledgeable in all areas of body movement and I've also learned nutrition tips from him. I would definitely recommend Foundation Fitness.

If you are serious about physical health, I recommend Sean and Foundation Fitness of Ashburn. I worked with Sean for six months and learned a lot. Trainers focus on overall fitness, not just lifting weights. They work with you on your diet, exercise, mobility, etc.Before joining Foundation Fitness, I used to work out five days a week, doing the push pull routines and I was getting mediocre results.After joining foundation fitness, I worked out 2-3 days a week and could see the results in just three months. We mainly focused on compound movements, and Sean monitored my diet (primarily carb and protein intakes). Sean educated me about concepts like one rep max and what to eat/when to eat.What I liked:- Professional and friendly staff- Flexible around your schedule- Great facility/equipment

Having started working with Kevin in late October 2022 I have already noticed increased muscle control and definition. He is motivating educating and encouraging. I do have to warn you if you asked him any questions about his strongman competitions he will show you the video.

Kevin has been working with me for a while now, he always is ready for whatever i bring that day. If I'm having a bad day he pushes me through it, if my shoulder starts to hurt he adjusts the exercise to suit my needs, and best of all makes me always want to go every morning by being a joy to train under! Ive been working with Sean at this location for over a year. I can’t describe how thankful I am for his flexibility to work around my hectic work schedule and make time for me ALWAYS! On top of being a top notch fitness professional, I also love that he is willing to try new workout styles (i.e. we picked up boxing at the end of our sessions) to cater the workout to my wants and mood of the day! I swear it’s like he’s a mind reader and can tell what type of workout you truly exactly need that day! It took me several tries to find “the ONE” but Sean is it!!! :)I also enjoy the studio vibe at this location. The other trainers are just as amazing too and super friendly. It creates for such an inclusive, fun, and positive environment for all customers.

I have been working out at Foundation Fitness of Ashburn before it was Foundation Fitness! I currently work out with Kevin. He is a very attentive trainer. He pays attention to a client's training goals, physical condition and special needs (like injuries or weak body parts). I appreciate his knowledge of the human body and muscle system. He has helped me strengthen a gimpy shoulder and increase my strength at the same time. He is quite flexible in scheduling, which is important to me as I travel some for work. And he pays attention to my desire to train without other people in the gym because of the coronavirus. Kevin pays personal attention to the gym being clean and sanitized, which I appreciate. Overall, I highly recommend Foundation Fitness of Ashburn and Kevin.

I’ve been working with Kevin almost 6 months now and it’s been way better than expected! Short story: I work in the automotive field working on transmissions. The other day a customer of ours brought in his own transmission to drop off to us. Not abnormal BUT what was unusual is he had put it on the back seat of his car. Not an ideal situation for getting it out of the car since it’s awkwardly shaped and heavy. Normally we’d use two people to lift it up and out of a car, usually someone’s trunk of tailgate. Since it was in the back seat it’s hard to get two people to fit into the door. Well.... thanks to Kevin and his training..... I was able to lift the transmission out BY MYSELF and carry it over to the cart it needed to be placed on!! Thank you Kevin, I look forward to seeing what results continue to come from training with you!

Foundation Fitness of Ashburn is an amazing gym. Unlike the big chain gyms, the trainers are extremely knowledgeable and you can tell they really care about your health. The gym is always clean, especially since the the pandemic, and I feel safe working out there. Whether you are a serious athlete or just want a comfortable place to workout, I highly recommend this gym. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

If you're looking to get the most out of your workout, look no further than this gym. Unlike big-box gyms, you'll get pushed to your full potential. The facilities are cleaner than the other gyms, and I feel safe whereas in my old gym I would leave feeling uncomfortable and worried. You definitely get more bang for your buck.

Kevin is amazing, and I would highly recommend him to anyone, from the novice to a more experienced lifter. He’s extremely knowledgeable about anatomy and how the body moves and functions in different exercises, and teaches you correct form, hand/foot placement, and breath work. I started working with Kevin at Foundation Fitness about a year ago; I was suffering from chronic sciatic pain in my right leg and trying to avoid surgery. Kevin evaluated my movement and identified the source of my pain. I was pain free within the first 3 months of working with him. Now we are focusing on regaining my lower body strength after years of sitting at a desk. Really wish I could give them more that a five! When I first met with Kevin at Foundation Fitness I had utilized the personal training at my local gym and I can honestly tell you that they don’t know what in the world they are doing. I have been working with Kevin for about a month and I am extremely satisfied with the results I’m seeing! Every session gets gradually harder as I become stronger and in better shape. The training environment is a very fun, open atmosphere. Kevin is an all around trainer who adapts, as my workout needs change. I have been at this studio for about 3 years. i have worked out since i was a kid, and stopped for a few years when my kids were born. I came to the studio and i got back in shape. People generally think i am 10-15 years younger that i am. I have back injuries that i some pain, but through exercise-muscles building, my constant pain has eased. Small classes and great workouts. I just finished the Six Week Challenge and am excited about continuing with Foundation Fitness. I was a member at Lifetime before joining here. I enjoyed working out, but absolutely hated the people there. The douchbaggery and pretentiousness made it practically unbearable. On a whim, I accepted an invite from a friend to try her kettlebell class at Foundation Fitness. I enjoyed it so much, I canceled my other membership the next day. It’s now been almost two years, and I’ve never regretted moving over. Before I joined Foundation Fitness I had never picked up a kettlebell, but now I can swing it with the best of them. It’s not really about just lifting weights and doing cardio. It’s a whole adjustment of your fitness routine, centered around functional strength. They’re small classes (3-10 folks, depending on which class), so you’ll never have to compete with anyone for weights or space. The level of instruction here is top-notch. My main trainer has been Brian Wright, and he is really great. But I’ve also had time to get to know a few of the other trainers: Adam, Cynthia, and Stevens are also really great and very personable. No matter if you’re starting a fitness journey for the first time or changing up your routine after years of working out, this place will still work great for you.I even train with Brian in a separate group outside of our class time, because I like him so much and the training and instruction is so good! This is the strongest I’ve ever been in my entire life and I’m so happy with the results.If you’re considering a small class setting, I HIGHLY recommend Foundation Fitness in Ashburn.

I have been working out with kettlebells for the past 5 years. Hardstyle kettlebell has given me strength and confidence to keep getting stronger. The programs at Foundation Fitness, Ashburn are customized to each individual's needs. Even if you have a specific goal the well-rounded workouts get you stronger in a comprehensive way. I've participated in the last 4 Tactical Strength Challenges and every time hit a new PR in multiple events. The Sunday open gym programs are like the icing on the cake of building strength - focus, supportive camaraderie, and motivating energy.

I've been a recreational athlete all my life and BW-PT is the only group exercise program that I not only have maintained twice a week for close to a year now, but have seen substantial strength, endurance, and mobility results with. BW-PT trainers are professional and passionate. They make classes challenging but fun. I had never picked up a kettle bell before going to BW-PT and not once did I felt intimidated or overwhelmed by the classes or movements. BW-PT trainers pay close attention to each client making sure they are in proper form, particularly if you are a newbie. I love the small class sizes and diversity of each workout. If you are looking for a killer full body workout, BW-PT is your place. Be forewarned though, you will be addicted.

Found this gem of a place from a Google search and I'm so glad that I did! My first thought when reading the Google reviews was "There are so many good ones, is it really that good??" I went in for a consultation to check it out and ended up signing up that day. I've been training with Steven in a small group format for about 5 weeks now and I can say that they do live up to their great reviews! The gym is small, but it has all that you need for your training sessions. I was coming off of a knee injury/exercise hiatus and was a bit nervous to get back into working out. Steven has been great in making sure the exercises are modified as needed. He is supportive, yet challenging and makes the sessions fun. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I. LOVE. THIS. GYM. If you’re thinking about starting (or re-starting) an exercise program, Foundation Fitness is *life-changing*. There is a reason why their reviews are extraordinary; no matter where you are in your fitness journey, no gym has more heart or cares more.I’ve struggled with diet and exercise my whole life; my weight has fluctuated an embarrassing amount. When I first joined, I got winded climbing a flight of stairs. I was so deeply unhappy, and so ashamed of my fitness level that the whole prospect of setting foot in a gym was intimidating. I hated the thought of joining one of those large chain-gyms; I knew I needed more accountability. But Foundation Fitness is a small, community-oriented fitness center with a SPECTACULAR, non-judgmental team that will push and inspire you. Each of their trainers offers their own arena of expertise – Collin is exceptional in mobility and functional fitness, Amber will give you the best HIIT workout of your life, Angelo builds award-winning power-lifters, and Steven is a *phenomenal* weight-lifting/body sculpting coach.Whenever I show up, I feel welcomed, seen, and encouraged. (It’s sort of like my inner high school nerd is hanging out with all the jocks, and they’re being really nice to me??) The environment is always fun, even during the most grueling workouts. Some days we’ll listen to 70s rock music, other times it might be DJ mixes or top hits. I’ve never met another gym-goer I didn’t like; everyone is great. The aspect I love the very most about this gym is that I see clients of every age, body type, race, ethnicity, and ability; Foundation Fitness doesn’t just preach community – they live it. Each of the trainers is friendly and fun, but also a consummate professional. The level of engagement and attentiveness I receive during my workouts is unsurpassed by any trainer I’ve ever had before, and I can see and feel the results. The trainers help build the foundation and give you the tools to continue your fitness outside of the gym. Nutrition coaching is included, as is an app you can link to MyFitnessPal, Apple Watch, Garmin, etc. I’ll add that I did some price shopping in the area before I joined Foundation Fitness, and I found their rates to be extremely competitive, if not better than most.In terms of the facility itself, it’s small – a couple of treadmills and other cardio machines, four separate rack stations, and all the standard training equipment (free weights, kettlebells, etc.). You’re expected to arrive early and do at least 30 minutes of warm-up and stretching before your session. There isn’t a locker room here (although there are bathrooms in the building), so this works best if you’re able to shower/change at home. Also, the gym is intended for group or one-on-one training sessions; while you can technically show up and do cardio on your own, this isn’t like standard gyms where you can just come and do weights whenever.If you’re even considering joining a gym or working with a trainer, you won’t find a better fit – I promise you. In about 3 months (with some hard work in and outside of the gym), I lost approx. 25 lbs and 10% of my body fat while building muscle. The compliments are nice, having clothes fit *so* much better is great, but nothing beats how I feel – happier, stronger, and hopeful. Joining Foundation Fitness is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself – ever.

After researching gyms, I committed my health goals to FF-Annadale. I have no regrets! 2 months of training and a nutritional meal plan, and my results have been remarkable. Angelo and his team are experts in their field, and the experience I gained from them has been invaluable. Our Monday after-work sessions are my favorite time to enjoy community while working up a sweat. Other times, we are very focused. That said, it's so much more than a gym. I am confident I will reach my fitness goals and make great friendships along the way.

Absolutely phenomenal! Whether you're brand new to fitness, trying to get back in shape, or are already advanced, this is the place to train. I also know two people who joined this gym to prepare for their physical abilities test in law enforcement and both were successful. Angelo, Amber, and Steven at the Annandale location are excellent trainers. Highly recommend.

I have been training at Foundation Fitness with Collin as my trainer for four months now and have improved a lot already! I understand how to manage my nutrition and my strength has nearly doubled! The onboarding process was smooth and the other personnel are great as well. As a former college athlete, I’ve never felt satisfied with my experience at typical gym chains around here. I wanted a community feel with qualified coaches that could personalize my workouts and push me. I also have a connective tissue disorder and old injuries that can be difficult to accommodate. Angelo and Steven immediately made me feel like this was the place for me. You can choose 1:1 or small group sessions and your frequency. They paired me up with a small group of likeminded women 2x a week. Steven has done a great job of tailoring our workouts to our unique abilities and goals, and even though I’d rather rag on him than compliment him, he makes each session fun. 🙂 Each time I’m in the gym, there is a diverse group of individuals there, from first-timers to competitors, and all are friendly. I am happy to be a part of this community and look forward to going there each time.

The perfect balance! I always have a great time joking with the trainers and other clients, all the while getting in a hardcore workout. Steven, my trainer, is very knowledgeable, he always is prepared with a thorough workout, he shows the proper technique, and helps to guide my diet as well. When soreness or injury arise, he knows how to finesse certain movements so it doesn't hurt anymore or how to stretch out a particular sore muscle. I would highly recommend Foundation Fitness to anyone who wants to see results, have a good time, and be held accountable!

I was hesitant on going…I felt like I would be embarrassed and laughed at for not being the strongest guy kind of thing. Angelo on the first day made me feel right in place from day one. I went from starting at light weight to heavy with his training methods in a heart beat. My muscles and body stopped aching and I felt 10 years younger. As I progressed through after a couple months, we got on a diet plan and I dropped 16 pounds in two months in the healthy way…still eating carbs and other items but in a healthier aspect. I then transitioned to working out 3 times a week and mixing in a HIT training style for a couple of those days a week with Caleb…I love it. I did CrossFit and this is in that same realm but more targeted to what you need or want to get better at. I wish I had these guys when I was younger…hard telling where I might actually be in my life with sports and other activities or less injuries. Highly recommend and to me…these guys are almost like I’m working out with best friends and makes it fun to go workout rather than the “gym” feeling of thinking you are out of place or not doing the right exercises alone.

As a work-at-home mom with two jobs and part-time homeschool mom of three young children, I give up my ONLY TWO FREE MORNINGS per week to be a FF and have zero regrets. They're two of my favorite mornings every week.After having my kids and developing an autoimmune disorder in the process, I spent a lot of time focusing on nutrition but just feeling totally lost when it came to exercise. Enter: Foundation Fitness. After a thorough intake, I was paired with my trainer - Collin - who is a perfect fit. He's always prepared for my workout, keeps track of my progress, teaches me how to lift safely, is encouraging without being weird, and doesn't make me feel like an idiot (a feeling I was quite accustomed to when at a gym...)Like Collin, the other trainers at the gym are friendly, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, encouraging, and flexible (I've even showed up with my 7 and 9 year old in tow and they rolled with it!). The gym is also spotlessly clean. In short - FF is wonderful!

I've trained at Foundation Fitness in Annandale for 9 months now. I signed on at the age of 49 because I wanted to begin my 50s stronger and healthier than I was in my 40s. My trainer Steven B did a thorough intake and made sure he understood my physical limitations and my goals to overcome and exceed them. In the 9 months I've trained with Steven I have seen real, life changing results. Physically I am much stronger than I was in my 40s and have a considerably better understanding of proper lifting technique. Steven has a tremendous amount of knowledge and he knows how to motivate without being overbearing. All the trainers here give their clients their undivided attention to make sure you are getting the max out of your time spent with them. If you've put on a bit (or in my case a lot) of weight during the COVID isolation that won't go away, come here and this team will get you back into fighting form. Highly recommended!

I joined Foundation Fitness of Annandale in November 2022 and am still going strong! I am more than happy with the personal training I receive. My trainer (Angelo) is passionate about his job. His enthusiasm is a great motivator—it’s exactly what you need to push yourself. If you want to reach your goals and make changes to strengthen your body, I can’t say enough great things about Angelo. He will help you get the job done! He clearly knows his stuff and is so knowledgeable about the principles of strength training and fitness. I see the changes in my body and I’m getting stronger every week and I’m feeling better! Not only are the other trainers (Steven and Caleb) just as knowledgeable but I can really see they enjoy helping others get fit. Foundation Fitness has been a great place to achieve my fitness goals. All of the trainers here are exceptional in their knowledge of nutrition and workout technique. Great atmosphere and trainers! I have been training with Steven 2-3x a week for about about 10 months now and have nothing but good things to report. Started going here shortly after a lower back injury and they helped me with strengthening the muscles around my back and improving my flexibility/mobility. I also lost 30 pounds and feel better/stronger after 20 weeks thanks to Steven’s nutritional/diet guidance. The gym is on the small side but it has everything you need. Everyone’s really nice, the pricing is really fair and they are very understanding when life things come up. Would recommend for anyone trying to get in shape or lose weight.

I’ve been training at foundation fitness for over a month and found it to be really motivating and exciting. The staff/trainers are always welcoming and very friendly, extremely helpful and encouraging.They train you well and proper with the correct tools and they always look after your safety, even when you aren’t aware. They guide towards nutrition, offer friendly tips and reminders prior to sessions and always train you whenever it’s convenient for you, which really does help with my fluctuating work schedule. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants to set life changing goals, nothing more I can ask for, than a great gym and an awesome trainer (Lisa, train with her y’all, thank me later 😍) at a convenient investment worth my time and money 😊

I have been going to Foundation Fitness for about 6 months now and joining was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I love working one-on-one with Lisa—she’s super knowledgeable, knows when to push you further or adjust when things don’t feel right, and brings so much positive energy to each session. The other trainers and clients are all really friendly and supportive as well—very much a community feel. Since joining I feel so much stronger and I am well to my way to reaching my fitness goals. I love the welcoming atmosphere of this gym. My trainer Jill is absolutely amazing. She offers plenty of insight on both fitness and healthy eating. Before I started here, I was in so much pain every day due to previous knee surgeries and was having trouble doing typical tasks and working my job. Thanks to Jill, I am able to move better, have more balance and am in way less pain. I’m so thankful to all the support that I have found at this gym! I highly recommend!

I think you can go to just about any gym to work out. But if you want to go to a gym that will change your entire outlook on fitness and health, you should go to Foundation Fitness Annandale.I live with severe major depressive disorder, and since the dawn of time, everyone has been telling me that exercise will help. But I never knew what to do in the gym, so I didn't bother trying. However, when my depression became very dark about two years ago, I decided to try training. Three months, I told myself. I’ll give it three months.Then I met Angelo Demark at Foundation Fitness Annandale and two years have passed and I'm still here. Angelo profoundly changed my life. Yeah, I lost weight, I gained muscle, I feel physically “fitter,” but there are other benefits to working with trainers that I feel should be highlighted — like their impact on your mental health. Angelo pushed me on days when I could be pushed, he took workouts slow on difficult days, he made me laugh when I needed it (so, every day). He was supportive and compassionate and stable.I like to say that Angelo didn't help make me "feel good" about just my body — he helped make me, as a whole person, well.I’d also like to shout out Steven Bybee. He’s another fantastic trainer with a great personality — always made me laugh and feel welcome and wanted in the space, which was a feeling I didn’t know I needed until I had it. These guys are not stereotypical, intimidating “gym bros;” they are total and complete sweethearts.I’d also like to thank Patrick Bresley for accommodating me when I needed it. When he was signing me up, he told me that this gym is like a family, and I attempted to call his bluff at one point with something I considered to be an outlandish request. It was not a bluff. He and Angelo took care of me like family when I needed it most.Okay, that’s all. I know this is over-the-top for a Google review, but I’m moving soon and leaving the gym — which is harder for me than leaving some of my friends in this area (I hope they don't see this lol). Also, I really want a Foundation Fitness t-shirt before I go.Basically, go to this gym. It's worth it. You're worth it.

Foundation Fitness in Annandale is hands down the best gym I’ve participated in! It is not like your typical gym experience; it’s extremely personable and tailored for your particular goal. The trainers are all very committed, knowledgeable and encouraging! The gym also includes nutritional guidance to help improve your overall lifestyle and reach goals quicker. I could not be happier with my experience at Foundation Fitness over the past 2 years. My current trainer, Angelo, challenges me, is tough on me when needed (typically related to wine), and also suggests ideas that are realistic given my nutty life! All of the trainers there are friendly and welcoming. The community feel is something I really value and I truly look forward to walking in the door every Tuesday and Thursday.

Foundation Fitness has been a great personal training experience the past 6 months. I have been focused on finding a combination of cardio, endurance, weight training, and nutrition to offset the challenges that come as a working mom and slowing metabolism. My trainer Mikayla finds a great balance between keeping me accountable, being flexible with my schedule, and crafting creative workouts that keep things interesting and aligned with my personal health goals. Both staff and other clients are friendly and supportive and it’s made working out shift from a necessary evil to an activity I look forward to. Best of all, I weigh less than when I got married, am stronger than well.. ever, and feel the improvement in stress and balance I was looking for in my life!!

This is the best gym experience that I have ever had. I was super nervous about working out with my knees because I have had so much pain when I run or go down stairs. I never thought I would be doing squats with weight and no pain! I have been on several runs since I started and finish without the usual knee pain. Soooo thankful!The workouts are challenging in a good way, and I go home feeling healthy and feeling good about what I accomplished.Also, Angelo, my trainer, and the rest of the staff are super knowledgeable and give great holistic advice about little things that can affect your workouts and body. He is always super positive and that makes the workouts fun.I recommend this place it is worth your time and money.

I can't give enough praise to Foundation Fitness and the Georgetown staff. From intake with Kimior to a year later of working out with the amazing Michaela, I have had a great experience. It is evident that Kimior has put much thought into creating a gym environment that is warm and welcoming to people of all ages and in all stages of their personal growth. I love that they emphasize health in its entirety--including sleep, nutrition, stretching/flexibility, muscle growth, fat loss (if that's your goal) and even a positive mental health. At Foundation Fitness Gym I’ve been doing a combination of physical therapy and personal training with Maroun Yazbeck and Michaela Krsikova. I’ve found their instruction to be wise, comprehensive and life changing.Their plan for me is designed to address both strengths and weakness, and they make innovative changes in the moment. At the age of 81 after years of daily running, as well as pilates classes, I need these workouts to stay in shape mentally and physically.Foundation Fitness is a small gym which offers personal instruction to clients. Having tried many different classes and physical therapy sessions, I highly recommend this experience.

So happy I decided to try out personal training sessions at Foundation Fitness to get in shape for my wedding. Michaela is fantastic- she has expertly advanced me at just the right pace (I had no prior experience) and I’m seeing visible results at 4 months along with improving InBody biometric assessments. Wasn’t planning to continue after my wedding but definitely plan to now. Good work out atmosphere, not too many clients training at a time and plenty of machines to use pre or post.

I joined this gym several months ago. It is a wonderful place, inclusive, kind, inspirational, especially for senior citizens such as this formerly sedentary woman! The trainers have an impressive training and capacity to motivate. Gym is in a lower-level small building on MacArthur in the Palisades mini-commercial strip near the UPS so parking is limited though available short-term nearby. Shout-out to Martin, Michaela and Kimior: you're the best!

I've been training with Michaela for more than 8 months and it has been such a great experience. The workouts are perfectly challenging and she is super attentive to form. She can tell right away if I'm not aligned correctly (or the weight is too light!) and she'll make the adjustment. The facility is clean, the trainers upbeat, and the equipment is exactly what you need. Super happy with my experience and would recommend Foundation Fitness to anyone!

This was hands down the most fantastic experience I have ever had in a gym. I was gifted with an incredibly thoughtful, patient (Kimoir made careful considerations at every move for a specific health/body condition that had been keeping me from working out), and very knowledgeable trainer who walked me through the best workout of my life. I hardly knew I was working out, loved the music and happy dancing between reps (the positivity and enthusiasm is infectious), and I left confident and with my body feeling better than it’s ever felt in my life - I’m not kidding.The nutrition break down that followed was also effectively insightful and the feeling of being supported really stays with you - I’ve got everything I need to get in shape and meet my goals!!! Also loved how comfortable, clean, and well equipped this location is and how much space we had to ourselves. No questions and no hesitation, this is THE BEST and only gym/trainer you will ever need.

Had a great experience here at foundation fitness. The staff was very accommodating to our needs in terms of the program for us. I think the biggest highlight was their ability to modify workouts to cater to our physical needs/restrictions and areas of improvement.Also the staff was just overall always happy to be there and passionate about fitness!

I've always hated working out and I had real gym fear but everyone at Foundation Fitness is so kind and wonderful to work with. Michaela helped me enjoy the tough workouts and I even found myself doing some exercises while on vacation. I have been very happy with my training at Foundation Fitness. My trainer (Michaela) is awesome. She does a great job of tailoring my workouts (using free weights, plyos, and stretching) to my goals. The gym itself has good equipment and is no-frills, which probably allows for the reasonable prices. I highly recommend checking them out!

I've been working out at Foundation Fitness of Georgetown for 6 months and it's been a great experience. The trainers are friendly, knowledgable and have helped me toward my goals. They provide a lot of variety in their workouts and make sure that I'm working primary and secondary muscles.I've spent most of my time with Michaela and would recommend her to everyone. She provides good recommendations on technique, pushes me out of my comfort zone and helps me train in ways that I couldn't on my own. She's easy to talk to and fun to be around, so the workouts go quick.

If you're looking for a serious and caring training experience look no further, Foundation Fitness is the best! Patrick interviewed us first, and made sure he understood our needs. Kimior is our trainer at the Georgetown branch. My daughter was transitioning from several years of ballet and needed to learn her own training and body caring routine. The experience has included nutrition classes also. We couldn't be more happy.

I was really dreading returning to the gym after a couple of COVID years working out at home- and I was skeptical I’d be able to accomplish more in a gym environment than I was able to on my own at home… but a friend told me about Foundation Fitness and I’m so grateful! It has totally changed my thinking about gyms and what I can do! The trainers are amazing. You walk in and it’s a VIP experience every time. You don’t feel like you’re walking into a big box gym and getting lost in the crowd at all. You get custom workouts with your trainer who knows you and your goals every time AND there’s no awkwardly navigating sharing equipment or trying to figure out new ways to challenge your body. Just outsource the thinking to the experts!! I’m stronger than I’ve ever been and genuinely look forward to going to the gym. I even miss it on off days! Highly, highly recommend.

I cannot recommend Fitness Foundation Georgetown enough! I have been training with them since June 2021. My trainer is Michaela and I am so happy with my fitness results. I love how they tailor your fitness plan to you. I highly recommend this gym. They have a clean facility, friendly staff that give you positive marks so you keep reaching your goals. Kimior is also great, he gives excellent tips on nutrition and answers any fitness questions I may have. 5 stars across the board! I joined FF about one month ago, and I’d definitely recommend it. My trainer, Michaela is encouraging, very thorough with her explanations and visuals to demonstrate proper technique and form and her workouts vary (including boxing to spice things up) and are NOT boring. The gym is organized, clean (disinfected after each round), and has a large variety of equipment. It’s never crowded (usually just me and maybe one other person training): communication (via apps and texts) is good.

Foundation Fitness is amazing! As a high school senior my schedule is constantly shifting but the staff and my trainer Michaela have been so flexible and willing to adapt to my needs. It's been about 2 months and I've already seen so much progress with not only with weight loss, but also increased strength. Michaela has also been incorporating boxing into my sessions which has been so much fun! I highly recommend Foundation Fitness anyone who's considering joining... Just do it!

Foundation fitness has been an excellent experience so far! I have been working out with Michaela for three months and already see the changes I was hoping for. Michaela is challenging and will make you work hard every minute of the session! I would highly recommend her! The gym is clean and offers a more private experience than larger gyms that I have been a member of. Sometimes I am the only client in the gym! Every session has been different and tailored towards my personal fitness goals. The equipment is well maintained and there is such a variety! I would highly recommend foundation fitness to anyone looking for a private personal training experience.

Excellent review for Foundation Fitness. I had been training for a bit over a month and saw significant improvements. Not only will one get excellent personal training (accompanied by boxing! Which I very much enjoy), there is also nutritional help, which contributes significantly to health benefits and makes this gym an exceptional find. Foundation Fitness is an amazing gym! I have been training with Kimior for a month now, and the results are already amazing. I have been training with Michael Labs at Foundation Fitness in Fairfax for the past six months and find him to be very knowledgeable and passionate about personal training. I started working out at Foundation Fitness in Jan 2022 with Jason O. then Michael L. shortly thereafter. I’ve been an athlete my whole life but never done anything personally tailored to me and my individual goals. Working with Michael these past 6 months has been great and really improved my strength and overall fitness level. Why my goal wasn’t necessarily weight loss, my physique has changed dramatically! The scale has stayed roughly the same because of the lean muscle mass I’ve put on but I’ve lost inches all over my body so I’ll consider that a win. Michael was great to train with and I always looked forward to my workouts - not only is he knowledgeable about fitness and strength training, he is one of the easiest people to talk with! It felt more like I was chatting with a training partner than getting personalized coaching and I mean that in the best way possible! The only reason I’m leaving is because I’m moving out of state and I’m sad to no longer be working out there. I’d give this studio 10 stars if I could.

This review is long overdue. I discovered Foundation Fitness accidentally because it is near my office, and I’m so glad I did. The owner (Patrick) took time to meet with me for the initial appointment and to make sure my trainer would be a good fit. I’ve trained with Jason C. since May 2022 and have seen noticeable results, even though I haven’t been great at fitting in workouts on my own time. Jason tailors workouts to my own changing goals and limitations. He’s also very knowledgeable about alternative fitness/leisure activities, such as local hidden-gem hiking trails.

The training I get at Foundation Fitness is outstanding - first from Jason O and now with Michael who is extremely knowledgeable about physiology and strength training. I knew this gym was going to be the best the second I was sat down with the owner Patrick and given a straight forward one page contract, no tricks, just a commitment that anyone could understand. It was a hefty investment but the best investment i have ever made in my life. I love training with Michael and have been for several months now.Misinformation and inexperience is the reason I signed up, those are the reasons people don't like the gym, luckily the trainers are here to guide you. The truth is going to the gym is wonderful for your body regardless of age and the whole thing is good science just like a lot of other things in life.The trainers here at the gym, they don't just motivate you, they teach you how to be independent, work with you to reach your goals, and truly educate you to empower you.All the trainers are great relatable people who understand what it's like to be new and don't push you at a rate but rather challenge you within great and healthy reason.Doesn't matter whether you train with Michael, Hannah, or Jason they'll all steer you into having a productive fun and great workout that'll have you feeling accomplished. I have been training here for a few months now. The gym has all the equipment I need and the trainers are very knowledgeable and friendly.Hannah is my trainer. She has a vast knowledge of strength training and is always answering my questions and teaching me new things. I have lifted prior to starting a program here, but thanks to the great training here I am achieving greater strength gains than ever before and am seeing muscles that I didn’t even know I had.The trainers are very welcoming and you will feel like a regular. I started working out at Foundation Fitness towards the end of Summer 2022 and I have nothing but great things to say about this gym and their trainers! I worked with General Manager Jason Corbitt for my first few weeks where we discussed nutrition and goals for weight loss and strength training for my upcoming my wedding. He introduced me with a detailed plan for me and we got right into the workouts. Super nice and professional and has great taste in music!Having to change time slots, I now work with Hannah who is my current trainer and she's amazing! She's very knowledgeable about nutrition and strength training - I'd be so lost without her! Each session starts with a warm up, then into strength training. With Hannah's guide, she makes sure each lift I make is correct in form to prevent any injuries and to make the most out of each workout. Hannah tracks all of my workouts to make sure I meet my lifting goals and with her help, I've gotten past my personal records on all workouts and I'm getting stronger each week! I look forward to working out with Hannah as her positive mindset, care for me as a client makes feel safe while lifting, and our fun convos in between sets makes coming to this gym all the more awesome. I even referred my husband and we now both work with her!10/10 gym!

I've been working out at Foundation Fitness of Fairfax for about 8 months, and it's been a terrific experience curated by my trainer Jon. I initially went in to rebuild my fitness level, and regain confidence in the weight room. Jon has pushed me to accomplish all of the above, with a great program, dieting advice, and his philosophy of pain-free fitness. Jon is overwhelmingly accredited, and it shows: not only have I become more fit, I've learned something new every time I've stepped in the door. As a former athlete of over 10 years, I have had many aches, pains, and inefficient learned motor patterns which Jon has helped me not only work through, but made me stronger in those weaker spots. Jon's patience to work through exercises with me, explain them in detail, how they should feel, and his ability to correct issues is astounding. Jon has truly made a difference in my fitness journey!

I started working out at Foundation Fitness of Fairfax in February 2022, to get in shape and lose some weight prior to my Wedding this October. Working with trainer Jason Ogden (bald Jason) twice a week has been great. He tailors the sessions to your level and goals and keeps you motivated week after week. The sessions have provided me with the right level of accountability to keep me focused. I’ve always been athletic/sporty but have never really weight lifted before, and I can tell after just 6 months that I’m stronger and leaner than I have ever been. I plan to continue my training at Foundation Fitness and with ‘bald Jason’ even after my Wedding.

I started working with Foundation Fitness at the end of January 2022. Specifically I have been working with my trainer “bald Jason” - he is fantastic! I lost and kept off a lot of weight 20 years ago, but have struggled with 20-30lbs that I have yo yo’d up and down for 20 years. Done lots of workouts, some crazy diets but haven’t been able to keep it off. I chose foundation fitness because it is a small fitness center and they have a very inclusive approach to wellness= nutrition and workouts combined. I chose the right place.I continue there because of “Bald Jason” he is incredibly knowledgeable, energetic, accommodating and so so positive! My nature is to be very hard on myself - typical type A who gets frustrated when I don’t see results in anything I do. Somehow he has been able to keep me focused on the long game, change my relationship with myself and food, even get me to workout on my own when I am traveling (never happened before!) I think the key to his success beyond his deep knowledge of nutrition and gaining muscle / losing fat, which is vast, he is incredibly invested in my success. Honestly it took me a couple of months to get the food right, but eventually together we figured that out and because the workouts had been very consistent… it paid off. At 60 yrs young, I lost 20lbs, 5% body fat in the last three months and feel fantastic! I have a little more to go, but I am confident this is a lifestyle change and I will get there and stay there. I would encourage anyone who wants to change how they look and feel to join Foundation Fitness and ask for “Bald Jason” (there are two Jason’s @FF!) It will be worth the time and money invested in yourself! You will also have a lot of fun. The atmosphere with the other trainers and their clients is great as well.

I've really enjoyed working out at Foundation Fitness. The general atmosphere is super friendly and the gym is very clean. As for bald Jason (my trainer) I really appreciate his positivity throughout the workouts which helps you push through the tough lifts. I initially had lingering knee pain from an old sports injury and we worked to strengthen the muscles to help get past that. I also like that Jason keeps it simple and looks to the most effective way to achieve results.

Having talked to a lot of trainers in the area, none of them compares to the depth Foundation Fitness goes into in their initial consultation (background, trainers, short/long term goals, nutrition planning, explanation of the process, fitness journey in its entirety.• Gym is very clean/sanitary• Rarely more than 6 people in the gym• Trainers/clients uses an App to track nutrition togetherJASON OGDEN aka BALD JASON (MY TRAINER)Jason is a godsend. He goes above and beyond on finding ways to stretch/work my teres major pain after surgery. He always has an infectious positive energy; it really makes each session enjoyable.• Jason’s Motto is “Maximum result with least amount of effort”• Jason focuses on individual needs• He provides constant encouragement and motivation through consistent and regular communication• Heavily focuses on nutrition• Positive attitudeRESULTS (down 14 lbs in 7 weeks)Within the first two weeks of diligently tracking my nutrition, I was down 9 lbs. With continuous training and focusing on my nutrition, not only did I lose weight but able to lift more than I ever could!• More energy• Better sleep• Better posture• Better figure• Better mood (husband confirms)• Increased confidencePOSSIBLE SUGGESTIONSA review is not complete without any constructive feedback. For someone like me who doesn’t like to take selfies, I wish I had before picture to show you the difference training at Foundation Fitness has made.• Goal Check-In: I gave myself 6 months to build strength, focus on nutrition, lose weight (fat*) but accomplished in 4 months. Re-evaluation goals will be helpful.CONCLUSIONPersonal trainers are not cheap, so it really is an investment, both physically and financially. My only regret coming to Foundation Fitness is that I didn’t start sooner. Due to having RA I experience limited mobility that caused me to begin to lose strength as I wasn’t able to lift heavy objects.Foundation Fitness let me know that they would work with me to find ways to regain strength. Bald Jason has been incredible in helping me the past five months. I went from limited mobility to being able to lift more than I’ve been able to in years.From Jason’s modifications in exercises when needed to his flexibility in modifying days when I’m unable to work on what was planned, I can’t recommend Foundation Fitness enough.As a VA transplant, I truly hit the jackpot as a member of this gym family and being able to be trained by the ever optimistic and knowledgeable Bald Jason!

This past summer, as things started to reopen after the worst of the pandemic, I looked in the mirror and realized I did not look as healthy and in shape as I needed to be. While I could run a few miles with ease, what I really lacked was a strong core and upper body. I have worked with Jon Ces for several months. I have improved strength, balance, flexibility, lost weight and inches. Who could ask for more?? Well there is more. Foundation Fitness is like a family, you feel a great sense of community and we laugh through all our sessions.Jason runs a great women's bootcamp too! I do this on a drop-in basis. I started at Foundation Fitness a little over a year ago. Coming in with both preexisting back and knee problems, I knew it was important to join a place that would take these things into consideration. Right from Day 1, it was obvious that I made the right choice. Jason immediately got me starting on a great nutrition program, that was easy to follow and maintain. The workouts are always interesting and changing while at the same time being safe for both my back and knee. I have been able to make great progress over the last year.What also makes this place great, is everyone there is supportive in you reaching your goals. Your workout is catered in you reaching whatever goal you have set out for yourself. I've been training twice a week with Jon for over a year now. He is incredibly knowledgable and makes each of our sessions fun (as much as working your butt off can be!) I've reached fitness goals that I never thought I would, especially lifting. My strength and self-confidence have really skyrocketed, and I can't thank Foundation Fitness enough for helping me get there. The staff at Foundation Fitness are knowledgable, professional and fun. The facility is clean and I feel safe exercising there during covid given the measures they take to wear masks, sanitize everything being touched, etc. The workouts with Jason were fun (important to me!) and extremely effective. He was able to modify for my injuries and limitations without making me feel uncomfortable. I would recommend Foundation Fitness to anyone looking for personal training!

I started personal training with Jon at Foundation Fitness over a year ago now and it’s definitely been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’ve tried joining other gyms in the past and working out on my own but I always end up losing motivation after a few weeks. However, with a personal trainer, it’s harder to quit as easily when there is someone there to help you achieve your goals and make sure you show up to the gym every time :). Jon customizes each of his client’s workout sessions according to their strengths and weaknesses. He has definitely helped me improve in my weight training and motivates me to stay focused on my fitness goals. He is also flexible with scheduling sessions and offer virtual sessions when needed. I always look forward to my training sessions with Jon because I know I’ll feel good after an energetic workout session. Jon, and along with everyone at foundation fitness is always so friendly and provides a no-judgment environment! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to start their fitness journey!

Foundation Fitness of Fairfax is a gem. First and foremost, a big thank you to Jon for training and taking care of me and my wife over the last year. Jon is certainly one of the most experienced and committed trainers around.In the beginning, Jon did a consulting session with us where he asked us about our health goals and our daily nutrition. He came up with a workout and nutrition plan and explained us how not to do everything at once, but try taking small steps everyday and progress. Now, we have workout sessions thrice a week and Jon makes sure we are constantly challenged and pushed more so that we can achieve our goals. He is reliable, punctual, easy to talk to.It is a fun place with kind people who really care for your well being. We highly recommend this place. The professionalism and passion for what they do is second to none. Jon is very helpful, extremely accommodating and let's not forget encouraging and motivating, but the best part of all is that he genuinely cares about his clients.I really can't thank Jon and Foundation Fitness of Fairfax enough!

I needed short notice training to pass my Army combat physical test and they were very flexible and willing to help me even though I only had 6 weeks before moving to Ft Bragg. Sean provides a thorough, intensive and specifically individualized approach for each of his clients. He explains the purpose of each exercise in relation to achieving your individual goals. The workouts are INTENSE in the long run, but he slowly builds up your confidence and stamina appropriately. Kevin is an outstanding trainer with expert knowledge and understanding of strength training, physiology, neurology, and nutrition, tailoring your training program to accomodate your lifestyle and psychology. He takes the time to understand your goals, limitations and timeline so your specific needs are addressed. His approach is measured and paced to the individual. While having lived a life of fitness, in a very short period of time, Kevin has enabled me to produce physiological results (strength and muscle definition) that I never been able to achieve previously (either on my own or with other trainers). Not only has he transformed my physic, but he has educated me along the way to understand what and why I am performing specific exercises. When Kevin doesn't have the knowledge or experience, he researches the literature to gain the necessary knowledge. Kevin has my highest recommendation.

I’ve been active my whole life, but I felt like I turned 30 and wasn’t making progress anymore. Kevin knew how to help right away by hooking me up with Maxine. Along with some nutrition guidance, Maxine was able to help me lose 20 pounds of fat in 4 months! If I could rate 5+ stars I would. I worked out with Kevin for a little under a year. My original plan was just 6 months, however with the knowledge and guidance Kevin was giving me, 6 months seemed too short. I started off as someone who had never weight trained and knew very minimal about form and how to lift weights. Kevin was always very patient with me, taught me proper form, and as a result he gave me confidence that I wouldn’t have had without Foundation Fitness. After moving and no longer in the Ashburn area, I feel confident about what I’m doing in the gym thanks to Kevin and will continue to use those skills for years and years to come!!

If you are serious about physical health, I recommend Sean and Foundation Fitness of Ashburn. I worked with Sean for six months and learned a lot. Trainers focus on overall fitness, not just lifting weights. They work with you on your diet, exercise, mobility, etc.Before joining Foundation Fitness, I used to work out five days a week, doing the push pull routines and I was getting mediocre results.After joining foundation fitness, I worked out 2-3 days a week and could see the results in just three months. We mainly focused on compound movements, and Sean monitored my diet (primarily carb and protein intakes). Sean educated me about concepts like one rep max and what to eat/when to eat.What I liked:- Professional and friendly staff- Flexible around your schedule- Great facility/equipment

Ive been working with Sean at this location for over a year. I can’t describe how thankful I am for his flexibility to work around my hectic work schedule and make time for me ALWAYS! On top of being a top notch fitness professional, I also love that he is willing to try new workout styles (i.e. we picked up boxing at the end of our sessions) to cater the workout to my wants and mood of the day! I swear it’s like he’s a mind reader and can tell what type of workout you truly exactly need that day! I have been working out at Foundation Fitness of Ashburn before it was Foundation Fitness! I currently work out with Kevin. He is a very attentive trainer. He pays attention to a client's training goals, physical condition and special needs (like injuries or weak body parts). I appreciate his knowledge of the human body and muscle system. He has helped me strengthen a gimpy shoulder and increase my strength at the same time. He is quite flexible in scheduling, which is important to me as I travel some for work. And he pays attention to my desire to train without other people in the gym because of the coronavirus. Kevin pays personal attention to the gym being clean and sanitized, which I appreciate. Overall, I highly recommend Foundation Fitness of Ashburn and Kevin.

I’ve been working with Kevin almost 6 months now and it’s been way better than expected! Short story: I work in the automotive field working on transmissions. The other day a customer of ours brought in his own transmission to drop off to us. Not abnormal BUT what was unusual is he had put it on the back seat of his car. Not an ideal situation for getting it out of the car since it’s awkwardly shaped and heavy. Normally we’d use two people to lift it up and out of a car, usually someone’s trunk of tailgate. Since it was in the back seat it’s hard to get two people to fit into the door. Well.... thanks to Kevin and his training..... I was able to lift the transmission out BY MYSELF and carry it over to the cart it needed to be placed on!! Thank you Kevin, I look forward to seeing what results continue to come from training with you!

Foundation Fitness of Ashburn is an amazing gym. Unlike the big chain gyms, the trainers are extremely knowledgeable and you can tell they really care about your health. The gym is always clean, especially since the the pandemic, and I feel safe working out there. Whether you are a serious athlete or just want a comfortable place to workout, I highly recommend this gym. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

If you're looking to get the most out of your workout, look no further than this gym. Unlike big-box gyms, you'll get pushed to your full potential. The facilities are cleaner than the other gyms, and I feel safe whereas in my old gym I would leave feeling uncomfortable and worried. You definitely get more bang for your buck.

Kevin is amazing, and I would highly recommend him to anyone, from the novice to a more experienced lifter. I started working with Kevin at Foundation Fitness about a year ago; I was suffering from chronic sciatic pain in my right leg and trying to avoid surgery. Kevin evaluated my movement and identified the source of my pain. I was pain free within the first 3 months of working with him. Now we are focusing on regaining my lower body strength after years of sitting at a desk. Really wish I could give them more that a five! When I first met with Kevin at Foundation Fitness I had utilized the personal training at my local gym and I can honestly tell you that they don’t know what in the world they are doing. I have been at this studio for about 3 years. i have worked out since i was a kid, and stopped for a few years when my kids were born. I came to the studio and i got back in shape. People generally think i am 10-15 years younger that i am. I have back injuries that i some pain, but through exercise-muscles building, my constant pain has eased. Small classes and great workouts. I just finished the Six Week Challenge and am excited about continuing with Foundation Fitness. I was a member at Lifetime before joining here. I enjoyed working out, but absolutely hated the people there. The douchbaggery and pretentiousness made it practically unbearable. On a whim, I accepted an invite from a friend to try her kettlebell class at Foundation Fitness. I enjoyed it so much, I canceled my other membership the next day. It’s now been almost two years, and I’ve never regretted moving over. Before I joined Foundation Fitness I had never picked up a kettlebell, but now I can swing it with the best of them. It’s not really about just lifting weights and doing cardio. It’s a whole adjustment of your fitness routine, centered around functional strength. They’re small classes (3-10 folks, depending on which class), so you’ll never have to compete with anyone for weights or space. The level of instruction here is top-notch. My main trainer has been Brian Wright, and he is really great. But I’ve also had time to get to know a few of the other trainers: Adam, Cynthia, and Stevens are also really great and very personable. No matter if you’re starting a fitness journey for the first time or changing up your routine after years of working out, this place will still work great for you.I even train with Brian in a separate group outside of our class time, because I like him so much and the training and instruction is so good! This is the strongest I’ve ever been in my entire life and I’m so happy with the results.If you’re considering a small class setting, I HIGHLY recommend Foundation Fitness in Ashburn.

I have been working out with kettlebells for the past 5 years. Hardstyle kettlebell has given me strength and confidence to keep getting stronger. The programs at Foundation Fitness, Ashburn are customized to each individual's needs. Even if you have a specific goal the well-rounded workouts get you stronger in a comprehensive way. I've participated in the last 4 Tactical Strength Challenges and every time hit a new PR in multiple events. I've been a recreational athlete all my life and BW-PT is the only group exercise program that I not only have maintained twice a week for close to a year now, but have seen substantial strength, endurance, and mobility results with. BW-PT trainers are professional and passionate. They make classes challenging but fun. I had never picked up a kettle bell before going to BW-PT and not once did I felt intimidated or overwhelmed by the classes or movements. BW-PT trainers pay close attention to each client making sure they are in proper form, particularly if you are a newbie. I love the small class sizes and diversity of each workout. If you are looking for a killer full body workout, BW-PT is your place. Be forewarned though, you will be addicted.

Found this gem of a place from a Google search and I'm so glad that I did! My first thought when reading the Google reviews was "There are so many good ones, is it really that good??" I went in for a consultation to check it out and ended up signing up that day. I've been training with Steven in a small group format for about 5 weeks now and I can say that they do live up to their great reviews! The gym is small, but it has all that you need for your training sessions. I was coming off of a knee injury/exercise hiatus and was a bit nervous to get back into working out. Steven has been great in making sure the exercises are modified as needed. He is supportive, yet challenging and makes the sessions fun. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I. LOVE. THIS. GYM. If you’re thinking about starting (or re-starting) an exercise program, Foundation Fitness is *life-changing*. There is a reason why their reviews are extraordinary; no matter where you are in your fitness journey, no gym has more heart or cares more.I’ve struggled with diet and exercise my whole life; my weight has fluctuated an embarrassing amount. When I first joined, I got winded climbing a flight of stairs. I was so deeply unhappy, and so ashamed of my fitness level that the whole prospect of setting foot in a gym was intimidating. I hated the thought of joining one of those large chain-gyms; I knew I needed more accountability. But Foundation Fitness is a small, community-oriented fitness center with a SPECTACULAR, non-judgmental team that will push and inspire you. Each of their trainers offers their own arena of expertise – Collin is exceptional in mobility and functional fitness, Amber will give you the best HIIT workout of your life, Angelo builds award-winning power-lifters, and Steven is a *phenomenal* weight-lifting/body sculpting coach.Whenever I show up, I feel welcomed, seen, and encouraged. (It’s sort of like my inner high school nerd is hanging out with all the jocks, and they’re being really nice to me??) The environment is always fun, even during the most grueling workouts. Some days we’ll listen to 70s rock music, other times it might be DJ mixes or top hits. I’ve never met another gym-goer I didn’t like; everyone is great. The aspect I love the very most about this gym is that I see clients of every age, body type, race, ethnicity, and ability; Foundation Fitness doesn’t just preach community – they live it. Each of the trainers is friendly and fun, but also a consummate professional. The level of engagement and attentiveness I receive during my workouts is unsurpassed by any trainer I’ve ever had before, and I can see and feel the results. The trainers help build the foundation and give you the tools to continue your fitness outside of the gym. Nutrition coaching is included, as is an app you can link to MyFitnessPal, Apple Watch, Garmin, etc. I’ll add that I did some price shopping in the area before I joined Foundation Fitness, and I found their rates to be extremely competitive, if not better than most.In terms of the facility itself, it’s small – a couple of treadmills and other cardio machines, four separate rack stations, and all the standard training equipment (free weights, kettlebells, etc.). You’re expected to arrive early and do at least 30 minutes of warm-up and stretching before your session. There isn’t a locker room here (although there are bathrooms in the building), so this works best if you’re able to shower/change at home. Also, the gym is intended for group or one-on-one training sessions; while you can technically show up and do cardio on your own, this isn’t like standard gyms where you can just come and do weights whenever.If you’re even considering joining a gym or working with a trainer, you won’t find a better fit – I promise you. In about 3 months (with some hard work in and outside of the gym), I lost approx. 25 lbs and 10% of my body fat while building muscle. The compliments are nice, having clothes fit *so* much better is great, but nothing beats how I feel – happier, stronger, and hopeful. Joining Foundation Fitness is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself – ever.

After researching gyms, I committed my health goals to FF-Annadale. I have no regrets! 2 months of training and a nutritional meal plan, and my results have been remarkable. Angelo and his team are experts in their field, and the experience I gained from them has been invaluable. Our Monday after-work sessions are my favorite time to enjoy community while working up a sweat. Other times, we are very focused. That said, it's so much more than a gym. I am confident I will reach my fitness goals and make great friendships along the way.

Absolutely phenomenal! Whether you're brand new to fitness, trying to get back in shape, or are already advanced, this is the place to train. I also know two people who joined this gym to prepare for their physical abilities test in law enforcement and both were successful. Angelo, Amber, and Steven at the Annandale location are excellent trainers. Highly recommend.

I have been training at Foundation Fitness with Collin as my trainer for four months now and have improved a lot already! I understand how to manage my nutrition and my strength has nearly doubled! The onboarding process was smooth and the other personnel are great as well. I am sad to say Ill be leaving the gym for a few months because of my work but would love to work with Collin in the future!

As a former college athlete, I’ve never felt satisfied with my experience at typical gym chains around here. I wanted a community feel with qualified coaches that could personalize my workouts and push me. I also have a connective tissue disorder and old injuries that can be difficult to accommodate. Angelo and Steven immediately made me feel like this was the place for me. You can choose 1:1 or small group sessions and your frequency. They paired me up with a small group of likeminded women 2x a week. Steven has done a great job of tailoring our workouts to our unique abilities and goals, and even though I’d rather rag on him than compliment him, he makes each session fun. 🙂 Each time I’m in the gym, there is a diverse group of individuals there, from first-timers to competitors, and all are friendly. I am happy to be a part of this community and look forward to going there each time.

The perfect balance! I always have a great time joking with the trainers and other clients, all the while getting in a hardcore workout. Steven, my trainer, is very knowledgeable, he always is prepared with a thorough workout, he shows the proper technique, and helps to guide my diet as well. When soreness or injury arise, he knows how to finesse certain movements so it doesn't hurt anymore or how to stretch out a particular sore muscle. I would highly recommend Foundation Fitness to anyone who wants to see results, have a good time, and be held accountable!

I started training with Steven three years ago and haven't looked back! His knowledge and ability to break down movement is unmatched. The team at Foundation Fitness Annandale is fabulous! Collin and Angelo make training fun and challenging at the same time. The atmosphere is friendly and non-intimidating. I was hesitant on going…I felt like I would be embarrassed and laughed at for not being the strongest guy kind of thing. Angelo on the first day made me feel right in place from day one. I went from starting at light weight to heavy with his training methods in a heart beat. My muscles and body stopped aching and I felt 10 years younger. As I progressed through after a couple months, we got on a diet plan and I dropped 16 pounds in two months in the healthy way…still eating carbs and other items but in a healthier aspect. I then transitioned to working out 3 times a week and mixing in a HIT training style for a couple of those days a week with Caleb…I love it. I did CrossFit and this is in that same realm but more targeted to what you need or want to get better at. I wish I had these guys when I was younger…hard telling where I might actually be in my life with sports and other activities or less injuries. Highly recommend and to me…these guys are almost like I’m working out with best friends and makes it fun to go workout rather than the “gym” feeling of thinking you are out of place or not doing the right exercises alone.

Bottom Line: This place is amazing (especially if you're *not* a gym person) and well worth the investment.I've been at Foundation Fitness for three months now and can't imagine a better gym experience. As a work-at-home mom with two jobs and part-time homeschool mom of three young children, I give up my ONLY TWO FREE MORNINGS per week to be a FF and have zero regrets. They're two of my favorite mornings every week.After having my kids and developing an autoimmune disorder in the process, I spent a lot of time focusing on nutrition but just feeling totally lost when it came to exercise. Enter: Foundation Fitness. After a thorough intake, I was paired with my trainer - Collin - who is a perfect fit. He's always prepared for my workout, keeps track of my progress, teaches me how to lift safely, is encouraging without being weird, and doesn't make me feel like an idiot (a feeling I was quite accustomed to when at a gym...)Like Collin, the other trainers at the gym are friendly, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, encouraging, and flexible (I've even showed up with my 7 and 9 year old in tow and they rolled with it!). The gym is also spotlessly clean. In short - FF is wonderful!

I've trained at Foundation Fitness in Annandale for 9 months now. I signed on at the age of 49 because I wanted to begin my 50s stronger and healthier than I was in my 40s. My trainer Steven B did a thorough intake and made sure he understood my physical limitations and my goals to overcome and exceed them. In the 9 months I've trained with Steven I have seen real, life changing results. Physically I am much stronger than I was in my 40s and have a considerably better understanding of proper lifting technique. Steven has a tremendous amount of knowledge and he knows how to motivate without being overbearing. All the trainers here give their clients their undivided attention to make sure you are getting the max out of your time spent with them. If you've put on a bit (or in my case a lot) of weight during the COVID isolation that won't go away, come here and this team will get you back into fighting form. Highly recommended!

I joined Foundation Fitness of Annandale in November 2022 and am still going strong! I am more than happy with the personal training I receive. My trainer (Angelo) is passionate about his job. His enthusiasm is a great motivator—it’s exactly what you need to push yourself. If you want to reach your goals and make changes to strengthen your body, I can’t say enough great things about Angelo. He will help you get the job done! He clearly knows his stuff and is so knowledgeable about the principles of strength training and fitness. I see the changes in my body and I’m getting stronger every week and I’m feeling better! Not only are the other trainers (Steven and Caleb) just as knowledgeable but I can really see they enjoy helping others get fit. Great atmosphere and trainers! I have been training with Steven 2-3x a week for about about 10 months now and have nothing but good things to report. Started going here shortly after a lower back injury and they helped me with strengthening the muscles around my back and improving my flexibility/mobility. I also lost 30 pounds and feel better/stronger after 20 weeks thanks to Steven’s nutritional/diet guidance. The gym is on the small side but it has everything you need. Everyone’s really nice, the pricing is really fair and they are very understanding when life things come up. Would recommend for anyone trying to get in shape or lose weight.

I’ve been training at foundation fitness for over a month and found it to be really motivating and exciting. The staff/trainers are always welcoming and very friendly, extremely helpful and encouraging.They train you well and proper with the correct tools and they always look after your safety, even when you aren’t aware. They guide towards nutrition, offer friendly tips and reminders prior to sessions and always train you whenever it’s convenient for you, which really does help with my fluctuating work schedule. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants to set life changing goals, nothing more I can ask for, than a great gym and an awesome trainer (Lisa, train with her y’all, thank me later 😍) at a convenient investment worth my time and money 😊

I have been going to Foundation Fitness for about 6 months now and joining was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I love the welcoming atmosphere of this gym. My trainer Jill is absolutely amazing. She offers plenty of insight on both fitness and healthy eating. Before I started here, I was in so much pain every day due to previous knee surgeries and was having trouble doing typical tasks and working my job. Thanks to Jill, I am able to move better, have more balance and am in way less pain. I’m so thankful to all the support that I have found at this gym! I highly recommend!

I think you can go to just about any gym to work out. But if you want to go to a gym that will change your entire outlook on fitness and health, you should go to Foundation Fitness Annandale.I live with severe major depressive disorder, and since the dawn of time, everyone has been telling me that exercise will help. But I never knew what to do in the gym, so I didn't bother trying. However, when my depression became very dark about two years ago, I decided to try training. Three months, I told myself. I’ll give it three months.Then I met Angelo Demark at Foundation Fitness Annandale and two years have passed and I'm still here. Angelo profoundly changed my life. Yeah, I lost weight, I gained muscle, I feel physically “fitter,” but there are other benefits to working with trainers that I feel should be highlighted — like their impact on your mental health. Angelo pushed me on days when I could be pushed, he took workouts slow on difficult days, he made me laugh when I needed it (so, every day). He was supportive and compassionate and stable.I like to say that Angelo didn't help make me "feel good" about just my body — he helped make me, as a whole person, well.I’d also like to shout out Steven Bybee. He’s another fantastic trainer with a great personality — always made me laugh and feel welcome and wanted in the space, which was a feeling I didn’t know I needed until I had it. These guys are not stereotypical, intimidating “gym bros;” they are total and complete sweethearts.I’d also like to thank Patrick Bresley for accommodating me when I needed it. When he was signing me up, he told me that this gym is like a family, and I attempted to call his bluff at one point with something I considered to be an outlandish request. It was not a bluff. He and Angelo took care of me like family when I needed it most.Okay, that’s all. I know this is over-the-top for a Google review, but I’m moving soon and leaving the gym — which is harder for me than leaving some of my friends in this area (I hope they don't see this lol). Also, I really want a Foundation Fitness t-shirt before I go.Basically, go to this gym. It's worth it. You're worth it.

Foundation Fitness in Annandale is hands down the best gym I’ve participated in! It is not like your typical gym experience; it’s extremely personable and tailored for your particular goal. The trainers are all very committed, knowledgeable and encouraging! The gym also includes nutritional guidance to help improve your overall lifestyle and reach goals quicker. I’ve only been there one month so far and am already feeling stronger and healthier then ever.

I could not be happier with my experience at Foundation Fitness over the past 2 years. My current trainer, Angelo, challenges me, is tough on me when needed (typically related to wine), and also suggests ideas that are realistic given my nutty life! All of the trainers there are friendly and welcoming. The community feel is something I really value and I truly look forward to walking in the door every Tuesday and Thursday.

Foundation Fitness has been a great personal training experience the past 6 months. I have been focused on finding a combination of cardio, endurance, weight training, and nutrition to offset the challenges that come as a working mom and slowing metabolism. My trainer Mikayla finds a great balance between keeping me accountable, being flexible with my schedule, and crafting creative workouts that keep things interesting and aligned with my personal health goals. Both staff and other clients are friendly and supportive and it’s made working out shift from a necessary evil to an activity I look forward to. Best of all, I weigh less than when I got married, am stronger than well.. ever, and feel the improvement in stress and balance I was looking for in my life!!

This is the best gym experience that I have ever had. I was super nervous about working out with my knees because I have had so much pain when I run or go down stairs. I never thought I would be doing squats with weight and no pain! I have been on several runs since I started and finish without the usual knee pain. Soooo thankful!The workouts are challenging in a good way, and I go home feeling healthy and feeling good about what I accomplished.Also, Angelo, my trainer, and the rest of the staff are super knowledgeable and give great holistic advice about little things that can affect your workouts and body. He is always super positive and that makes the workouts fun.I recommend this place it is worth your time and money.

Great Trainer. I have been training here for 6 months and I am very happy with the trainers at FF Annandale. I like that it is very close to my house. The trainers are friendly and attentive. This is the best neighborhood gym in the DMV area. It has all the equipment you would need for a great workout. The staff make you feel like you’re at home. 10/10 would recommend.

Very kind staff who are accommodating to the needs of clients. Facilities are also clean, with lots of machines. I would recommend Foundation Fitness to anyone in the area!

Ive only recently started going here but I love the flexibility to be able to go on my hours even late even if the office is closed, parking validation is a huge plus, good amount of available machines and weights and comforting and helpful staff.

I absolutely love coming to this gym! It’s small but I’ve never had to wait to use a piece of equipment. Super clean and organized! I had a great fitness consultation with Tony. Highly recommend 🙂

Just joined, and had a great consultation with Tony, and a personal training session with Imani. I really like this place. It feels like a community, a terrific neighborhood gym. Indeed, it’s a place where “everyone seems to know your name.”

Glad I found this gym! It's welcoming and friendly and I look forward to going. Even though it's not huge (which I like), they have a selection of cardio machines, weight equipment, and a space for (a variety of ) classes.

Dega and her team made the membership process easy and enjoyable. My favorite area is the spacious deck area where workouts can be taken outdoors. Highly recommend Foundation Fitness at Cleveland Park

Best decision I made in awhile. Coach Tony answered all my questions during the consultation and let me try out a class, the ladies lifting club. The women were so encouraging and I instantly felt the sense of community. Thank you!

Foundation Fitness is a great neighborhood gym! It has plenty of equipment, and I've never needed to wait to use what I wanted. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The staff is also incredibly nice. Definitely recommend!

I started going to Foundation Fitness in CP a few weeks ago. They make access very easy, always have clean towel, and have a nice selection of equipment for different workouts. It’s been a great addition to my weekly routine!

Great gym. Not a massive overall space, but lots of redundancy in equipment so I've always been able to access what I want without waiting. Multiple treadmills and other cardio machines; huge dedicated space for classes/yoga/ab work; versatile pulley machines with tons of different handles; well-stocked weight room with a bench, squat racks, leg press, dumbbells up to 90 lbs. Staff is super-friendly to customers. Flexible and fairly priced membership options -- not Planet Fitness cheap, but not Equinox expensive. Very happy with my membership so far.

I joined Foundation Fitness about a month ago and I've really enjoyed the gym. Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly. Although being on the smaller side, I've never had to wait to use a piece of equipment and I like that they have an outdoor area to work out as well. It's been a great experience so far!
