After being closed for 3 months, we gladly reopened on Monday, June 22.  We heard from many of you and realize that returning to the gym is going to be a slow and easy process for many of our members.  Our first member to return showed up at 9 a.m. and the last one came in at 6 p.m.  It has been equally slow today so far and I believe that this will continue for at least the next couple of weeks and probably beyond.

HOURS:  Therefore, we are going to adjust our hours beginning Wednesday, June 24, until further notice.

MONDAY – THURSDAY:       7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
FRIDAY:                                   7 a.m  – 6 p.m.
SATURDAY/SUNDAY:           8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
CLASSES:  We are going to attempt to hold some classes in a variety of modalities.   We are going to allow 6 participants and see how that feels.  Reservations are recommended.  If we find that many members can’t get into a particular class, we will probably give them priority for the following week.  I have no idea what the demand is for classes so that may not be a problem.  We will start slowly.  Here are the modalities:

GYM:  Our regular class offering in the gym

VIDEO/GYM: A YouTube channel class organized or offered
(This means that we will either offer a class via our YouTube channel or members can request one.)

VIDEO/LIVE GYM: A LIVE YouTube channel class offered at the gym
(This means that Beth, for example, will offer her LIVE Wednesday Yoga class tomorrow but it will be filmed at the gym so 6 members can sign up and take the class at the gym, while others can still access it LIVE from home.)

VIDEO/LIVE STREAM: A LIVE YouTube channel class offered at the gym via streaming.
(This means that an instructor can offer their class LIVE from their home and we can offer it at the gym for members to take.  For example, Natalie will be Live Streaming from home her Align & Flow class Thursday at noon and we will offer it here at the gym so members can take the class at the gym.)

8:30 a.m. Pilates Vivian


12 noon Align & Flow Yoga Natalie

Friday, June 26:
7:30 a.m. Flexibility Beth

9:30 a.m. Muscle Fitness Dega

These classes are on Mind Body.  Members should be able to sign up through Mind/Body but feel free to just call the gym to reserve (202) 537-0539).   The classes scheduled for the following week are tentative so feel free to reserve for them as well knowing that there may be some changes.
MASKS:  We are happy to report that the compliance with our suggestion to wear masks was at 99% yesterday.  However, we feel that, especially with the exposure of our staff who are here for extended periods of time, we are going to amend our policy for now.  It is still our hope that masks be worn all the time but it is MANDATORY that:
All members wear a mask when entering and exiting the gym, walking around the gym, in between stations/workouts, and while in the locker room.  We strongly encourage members to wear a mask at all other times, even while working out with six feet of social distance.
I strongly encourage our members to utilize the COUNTER on our website, www.foundfit.com.  This will show you how many are in the gym at that exact moment so you can come in when we are the least busy if it fits with your schedule and helps you feel more comfortable.
